How PACE helps children & families
In many ways the life at PACE reflects the lives of the children and families we are here to help.
As a child with a physical disability grows, they overcome challenges and are then faced with new ones. Cerebral palsy is a life-long disability and it affects every aspect of the child’s life. In doing so it affects the family too. At PACE children are acquiring specific academic, self-care, physical and communication skills but most importantly they are learning to tackle life for themselves. They learn to say “I can try, I CAN do it.” They develop a positive attitude because they are learning in an environment where everyone believes in their abilities and has high expectations of them.
The PACE centre is a charity. It depends on funding from charitable trusts, businesses, groups and individuals.
Currently about one in every 400 children in the UK is affected by cerebral palsy. You can help PACE reach more of these children through its innovative programme sessions, training and outreach services by supporting us today.
